Senior menus/Meals on Wheels: Dec. 21-24

Pasco County operates nine congregate dining sites that offer nutritious meals and various program activities. There is no charge for these meals, but donations are requested. Additionally, Pasco County delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program meal is offered for a donation only. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $5 fee per meal. Meals include low-fat milk. For information on any of these meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Pork chop patty with brown gravy, black-eye peas, country vegetable medley, corn bread square with margarine, peaches and low-fat-milk.

Tuesday: Meatballs with tomato gravy, potatoes au gratin, broccoli, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, apple crisp and low-fat-milk.

Wednesday: Sliced roast ham, whipped sweet potatoes, green beans with mushrooms and diced red peppers, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, special holiday dessert and low-fat-milk.

Thursday: Three-bean beef chili, white rice, whole kernel corn, whole wheat bread with margarine, mixed fruit and low-fat-milk.

Friday: Closed for Christmas.

    ST. LOUIS — A man who scored what he thought was a prime parking spot in downtown St. Louis says he returned from a trip to the gym with his fiancee to find his car swallowed by a sinkhole.

    A St. Louis police officer on Thursday looks over a large hole in Sixth Street in St. Louis that swallowed a Toyota Camry. It isn't immediately clear what caused the collapse.
