Senior menus/Meals on Wheels: Sept. 6-10

Pasco County operates seven congregate dining centers for adults ages 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $5 fee per meal. For meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Sites closed and no delivery due to Labor Day.

Tuesday: Barbecue pork riblet, Lyonnaise potatoes, green peas, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, chunky cinnamon apples and low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Oven-baked fish filet with tartar sauce, cheesy grits, tomatoes and okra, whole grain wheat bread, fresh fruit and low-fat milk.

Thursday: Vegetable soup, grilled chicken breast patty with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, oatmeal raisin cookie and low-fat milk.

Friday: Meatballs with brown gravy, rice pilaf, mixed vegetables, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, fresh fruit and low-fat milk.

    The murder of a St. Petersburg man will be featured this week on a new true crime series Murder Calls on Investigation Discovery.

    Jose Adame sits in a Pinellas County courtroom during his 2016 trial and conviction for first-degree murder. Adame was convicted of first-degree murder last year for torturing and then executing his boyfriend as he pleaded for his life in 2011.
