Senior menus/Meals on wheels, week of April 23-27

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: the Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. To get meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Chunky barbecue chicken, Lyonnaise potatoes, California blend vegetables, whole grain wheat bun with margarine, sugar cookie, low-fat milk.

Tuesday: Three bean beef chili, parsleyed rice, carrot coins, wheat crackers with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Baked chicken thigh with chicken gravy, broccoli cuts, mixed vegetables, rye bread with margarine, citrus fruit, low- fat milk.

Thursday: Sliced meat loaf with tomato gravy, mashed potatoes, green peas, whole grain bread with margarine, raisins, low-fat milk.

Friday: Sausage and butter bean casserole, buttered spinach, yellow corn, whole grain bread, graham crackers, low-fat milk.
