Several Brooksville road closures planned for Saturday

SEVERAL ROAD CLOSURES PLANNED FOR SATURDAY

There will be several road closures in downtown Brooksville on Saturday for two separate events. Temporary closures will be from 5 to 11 a.m. for the annual Flatlanders Challenge 5K and 10K races along the following roads: Lemon, Lamar, Main, Russell, Brooksville, Liberty, Fort Dade, Bell, Olive, Law, Mount Fair, Rogers, Oak, North, Howell, Sunset, Brockway, Dove, Ederington, Shadow, Colonial, Hammock, Whiteway and Keeling. Also, Main Street from Fort Dade Avenue to Broad Street will be closed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the Market on Main Street and Brooksville Bash. City Hall work moves council meeting

Due to construction at City Hall, the Brooksville City Council will have its meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Hernando County Mining Association Enrichment Center, 800 John Gary Grubbs Blvd. Individuals with disabilities needing assistance to participate should call the city clerk's office at (352) 540-3853.

Correction

Liz Townsend was promoted in December 2010 to her current post as director of operations for the Hernando Supervisor of Elections Office. The date was incorrect in a story published Thursday.
