SEMINOLE — Former Mayor Jimmy Johnson and current Seminole council member Jim Quinn have scheduled a "Heart and Sole Shoe Drive" from 10 a,m. to noon Monday at Lake Seminole Square, 8333 Seminole Blvd., to benefit children and teens at the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch.
The ranch seeks to prevent delinquency and develop strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens who will make a contribution to the community. Because many of the kids, age 3 to 18, who come to the ranch have nothing more than the clothes on their backs, the goal is to fill a patrol car with shoes for them.
New and lightly used shoes and donations accepted.
