Artists can apply for grants: Local artists can obtain $2,000 grants from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. Seven grants are available for 2013. Artist's projects must further their professional development. The projects must be outlined in the grant applications and take place during the grant period of March 1 to Sept. 30. Nominate a treasure of Tampa Bay: Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful needs nominations for the Treasures of Tampa Bay. Categories include litter prevention/removal, community improvement, neighborhood beautification, recycling/waste reduction, people's gardens and innovative green initiatives. Nomination deadline is Jan. 9. Winners will be announced on Jan. 29.
