Regional Economic Development Luncheon: The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce will host a 2012 Regional Economic Development Update luncheon at noon June 20 at Embassy Suites, 10220 Palm River Road. In addition to questions from those in attendance, topics of discussion will include the Tampa Bay Partnership's Regional Plan and what the plan outlines for eastern Hillsborough County. Confirmed speakers include Tampa Bay Partnership president and CEO Stuart Rogel and Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation president and CEO Rick Homans. Healthy cooking class: The American Cancer Society will present a Healthy Eating Cooking Class on Tuesday at the Delaney Creek Lodge, 320 S Lakewood Drive. The event begins at 6 p.m. with appetizers and drinks, then the class on how to cook healthy and delicious meals will begin. The cost to attend is $25. Iorio comes to Barnacles: Pam Iorio, former two-term mayor of Tampa and author of Straightforward: Ways to Live and Lead, will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the East Hillsborough County Democratic Club on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Barnacles, 926 Providence Road. She will discuss the importance of compromise and how the middle ground is being lost in today's political discourse.

Boy Scout fundraiser: Boy Scout Troop 665 is raising money to buy camping equipment. Musical theater auditions: The Performing Arts Company, a professional theater company that produces original musicals, will hold auditions for its fall musical at 6:30 p.m. June 26 and 27 at the Rollins Theater in Sun City Center. All chosen actors will receive a stipend for their work. The company is seeking twenty-something adult males and females. Actors will need to sing an up-tempo song and a ballad with an accompaniment track, perform a one minute monologue and do a cold reading. Diabetes education classes: The Hillsborough County Health Department will offer Manage Your Diabetes, a free education program open to adults, at various locations throughout the county.
