10 Sungoddesses form court for Festival of States

The 2010 Festival of States Sungoddess Court was announced this week. The 10-member court was selected from a group of 26 finalists.

Members of the court are ages 19 to 21 and were selected based on academic achievement, community involvement and personality. The 2010 Sungoddess will be crowned during the Coronation Ball at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort on March 13.

The 2010 Sungoddess Court comprises Donna Cannova, of the University of Florida; Sarah Faulkner, University of Florida; Amanda Griffin, Florida State University; Angela Reese, University of Florida; Jordan Rothwell, University of Florida; Kelly Russo, Wake Forest University; Kristina Terrana, University of South Florida; Jordan Weber, University of South Florida; Stephanie Wehrmann, Santa Fe College; and Whitney Wilkerson, University of Florida.

SPCA has incentives to take a pet home

Adopt a cat, kitten, dog or puppy from the SPCA Tampa Bay this month and receive a coupon for a free oil change of up to 7 quarts; no diesels, please.

Fees are waived for adult cats a year or older every Wednesday and Friday. Military members and veterans can adopt a dog or cat for free.
