New board members: St. John's Episcopal Parish Day School has added two new members to its school board of trustees. Kristan Evans is the director of marketing for Intelladon, a learning management system and talent management solution provider. Evans has served as communications chairwoman for the Health Information and Management Systems Society Central/North Florida chapter and health care special interest group chairwoman for the Tampa Bay chapter of the American Marketing Association. She has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Georgia.
Sean LaNeve is vice president of the control room group at AVI-SPL, and has a bachelor's degree in business administration-information systems from the University of Central Florida and a master's degree in business administration from Florida State University.
School grants: Lanier and Witter elementary schools were each awarded $25,000 grants by Target Corp. as part of the Give With Target initiative. Grants will be awarded to 100 schools, totaling $2.5 million. Schools that receive grants may determine how to use the funds within provided guidelines.
Children's chorus: The Tampa Bay Children's Chorus is accepting new singers for the 2012-2013 season. The chamber choir is open to advanced singers in grades 7-12, the concert choir is open to intermediate singers in grades 5-9, and the cantate is open to beginning singers in grades 2-5. Those interested in auditioning can sit in on a rehearsal. Rehearsals are held 6 p.m. Mondays at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church, 502 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace, and 6 p.m. Tuesdays at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg.

After school program: Registration is available for the Hillsborough County parks, recreation and conservation department's Rec2Six after school program for children in grades K-5.
The program runs from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday at 10 recreation centers in Hillsborough County. The weekly rate is $38. The reduced weekly rate is $30 with a current school reduced-price lunch letter and $20 with a current free lunch letter.
