PTA hosts Family Appreciation Night
The PTA will host a Family Appreciation Night for families of Ballast Point Elementary School students today at Qdoba Mexican Grill, 3801 W Gandy Blvd.
Students who wear a Walk-a-thon T-shirt will get 15 percent off their family's food purchase.
Schools host kindergarten roundup
Several Tampa elementary schools will host a "kindergarten roundup" program this week to provide information to families about kindergarten and registering their children for school. The program is open to families of students who would be assigned to each school based on their home address. The schools hosting the program, along with the time the program will begin, are as follows:
• Today: 8:30 a.m. at Lake Magdalene
• Wednesday: Egypt Lake, 8:30 a.m.; Cleveland, 9 a.m.; Cannella, 6:30 p.m.
• Thursday: Robles, 9 a.m.
Ballast Point students to see magic show
A magic show sponsored by the PTA will take place from 8:45 to 11 a.m. Wednesday for students at Ballast Point Elementary School, 2802 W Ballast Point Blvd.
Family members of students are also welcome to attend the performance.
Registration open for Spring Break Camp
Registration for the Tampa Bay History Center's Spring Break Camp is open for students in grades 3 to 5. The camp, which runs April 12 to 16, will take students via streetcar and water taxi to explore sites in downtown Tampa, including Tampa Theatre, the Plant Museum and the Port of Tampa.
Registration is $135 for members of the Tampa Bay History Center and $150 for nonmembers. Call (813) 675-8960.
