Three house-rattling booms still a mystery
Residents were startled Wednesday evening as a series of three mysterious booms rattled homes in the Trinity area. Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, said the agency received about 20 calls and deputies were dispatched to investigate, but found nothing. MacDill Air Force Base also received some calls asking if the booms might have been jets. Lt. Mark Graff, chief of public affairs, said the office is investigating. MacDill's annual Air Fest is scheduled for March 20-21, but Graff said no aircraft have flown in for the festivity yet. Doll said no damage was reported.

Bar brawl suspect "Snake" is found
The brawl broke out Nov. 20 in the parking lot of Mac Daddy's Irish Pub. One man was left with a broken eye socket and no vision in his right eye. The other man, known only as "Snake," fled. On Wednesday, Pasco deputies arrested Clayton Towne, 31, in connection with the attack. Towne – who is known as "Snake" and has a tattoo of a cobra on his right shoulder – told deputies he was involved at the fight at the bar on 11024 State Road 52, but he was only defending himself, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report says. Towne, of 15926 Winner Lane in Hudson, was charged with aggravated battery. His record includes serving a year in prison for child abuse. He was held Thursday in the Pasco County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
