Garbage pickup schedules affected

Garbage pickup schedules in several North Pinellas cities will be changed this week because of the Christmas holiday.

• The Clearwater Solid Waste Department will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Collections usually made on those Tuesdays will be made on Wednesday.

• In Dunedin, there will be no trash or recycling pickup on Christmas Day. Tuesday's customers will instead receive service on Wednesday.

• In Safety Harbor, there will be no pickup on Christmas Day. Homes will receive only one garbage collection during Christmas week, which will include bulk pickup. The city asks residents to hold their recycling items until after New Year's or utilize one of the dropoff centers: either the Safety Harbor Public Works Complex, 1200 Railroad Ave., or Fire Station 53, 3095 McMullen-Booth Road.
