While the kids play, parents can go golfing

Largo Golf Course and Southwest Recreation Complex are teaming up for Friday Fairways and Fun Days.

Parents can drop off their children, age 3 through sixth grade, at Southwest Recreation, 13120 Vonn Road, for games, movies and entertainment, while they play a round of golf at the nearby Largo Golf Course.

The program starts at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10. Cost is $9 per child and includes pizza and drinks, and $9 per golfer for nine holes.

Synchronized swimmers hold clinic, registration

Suncoast WaterWorks Synchronized Swim Club will hold a "Back to Synchro" clinic at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Southwest Pool, 13120 Vonn Road, Largo. At 11 a.m., registration for the club's 2010-2011 season will be held.

Highland complex holds annual Block Party Bash

The Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave., will hold its annual Block Party Bash from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The family friendly event will include gymnastics, baton and Zumba demonstrations, food, live music and games. Largo's police dog also will pay a visit.
