Winning Fantasy 5 ticket was sold in Brooksville

RIDGE MANOR WEST -- The winning ticket in Friday night's Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 drawing was sold at the Brooksville Food Mart, 30431 Cortez Blvd. The ticket is worth $267,287.27. The winning numbers were 16, 21, 29, 31 and 32.


Fundraiser Sunday for cancer patient

A "With A Little Help From Our Friends" benefit for Stephanie Prinston will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive. The host will be local entertainer and singer Stan Prinston, Stephanie's husband. Performers will include Tommy Mara, Rachel Taylore, Bobby Palermo, Steve Santo, Don Pinto, Ed Galloway, Tommy Johnson, Natalie Nelson, Phil Persichetti and the Direct Effect Band. Tickets are $25. Hors d'oeuvres will be served at intermission. Proceeds will help cover medical bills for Stephanie Prinston, who has breast cancer. Tickets are available at the post by calling 796-0398, as well as at HNA Cellular on Commercial Way and United Printing on Deltona Boulevard.

Meet native plants in class Tuesday

Florida Yards and Neighborhoods program coordinator John Korycki will present a free class, Landscaping with Native Plants, at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service satellite office in the Forest Oaks Government Center, 7479 Forest Oaks Blvd. Korycki will discuss which natives will thrive in Hernando County yards. Registration is not required, but seating is limited. Call 754-4433.


Sign up to run or sponsor Arc race

Runners and sponsors are needed for Arc Nature Coast's annual Spring Lake 5K Run on May 24 on the Arc grounds, 5283 Neff Lake Road. Registration will be at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place finishers in various age groups. A food fest will follow the race. The entry fee is $25 for the 5K or $20 for the fun walk/run. T-shirts will be guaranteed to all those who register by May 19. For information or a registration form, call 544-2322.
