The debate over giving Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano more money is still unresolved — and still contentious.
The airport's governing board was scheduled to discuss a bonus for Lopano at a workshop Thursday. But Chairman Steven Burton announced that he and Lopano agreed not to consider it until January, when he has finished his first year in the job.
Mayor Bob Buckhorn, however, says that's too soon. He wants to wait until a year from now when the board gives Lopano his second performance review.
Lopano's contract gives him a $250,000 annual salary, a $49,000 pension contribution and a $6,000 car allowance. He also receives a $3,000 monthly housing allowance through Dec. 31.
