Construction will slow traffic at Tampa International Airport

TAMPA — Starting late Thursday night, traffic into and out of Tampa International Airport will be slower because of construction related to the facility's expansion.

Inbound lanes of the George J. Bean Parkway will be rerouted and posted speed limits will be dropped from 35 to 25 miles per hour in the area.

The outbound lanes will be reduced from three to two lanes. This configuration will remain in place until early next year. Construction traffic on airport roads will increase while TIA undergoes a $943 million expansion and renovation set to be finished in 2017.
