TAMPA — A Delta airlines flight from New York City made a rough landing at Tampa International Airport late Saturday night when its main landing gear doors scraped against the runway, according to airport officials.

The landing gear doors of Flight 2391 came into contact with the runway as the MD88 plane landed at 10:35 p.m.

None of the Delta flight's 147 passengers were injured during the landing, said airport spokeswoman Janet Zink. It took 15 minutes to tow the plane to its gate.

But debris from the open landing gear doors left behind by the hard landing led airport officials to shut down runway 19R. Officials instead redirected airport traffic to runway 19L. But 19R was reopened by midnight.

The flight originated from John F. Kennedy International Airport.
