The board that oversees Tampa International Airport this morning will hear about investigations into controversies involving the airport's former executive director, Louis Miller.
Former Tampa city attorney David Smith reviewed height zoning variances approved by Miller, despite a state law requiring that a separate panel make those decisions.
The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority's legal staff will report on Sunshine Law violations. The authority said in February it failed to give public notice of two meetings where staff reviewed proposals from companies vying for contracts.
Separately, the board will discuss options for selecting a replacement for Miller, who resigned Feb. 24.
Members also will consider one of their own — Tampa surgeon Joseph Diaco — to chair a search committee for a new executive director. For updates, check out money.tampabay.com this morning.
