TAMPA — Spirit Airlines will launch a new seasonal route that will connect Tampa to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in the fall, the airline announced Monday.
It will be the ultra low-cost carrier's first-ever flight connecting Tampa International Airport to Minnesota. Daily flights will begin Nov. 7 and run through April 30.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul flight will depart there at 3 p.m. daily and land in Tampa at 7:10 p.m. The Tampa leg will takeoff at 7:55 p.m. daily and land at 10:20 p.m.
"Passenger counts between Minneapolis and Tampa more than double during peak season," said Tampa International CEO Joe Lopano in a prepared statement. "With Spirit Airlines' new nonstop flights, we look forward to welcoming even more Minnesotans to enjoy Tampa Bay's beaches, shopping, nightlife and other amenities that make this area a desirable destination."
