Former Bank of America Community Development Corp. senior vice president Roxanne Amoroso told the Tampa Bay Times on Monday that she quit her job on short notice at B of A after 12 years and will launch a consulting business to help real estate projects find financing in public and private partnerships.
In an interview, Amoroso declined to specify what happened to cause her swift departure from the bank. "I do not make decisions rashly," she said, but indicated there was a "straw that broke the camel's back."
Amoroso is best known regionally for her role in the successful start of Encore, the 40-plus-acre, mixed-use development rising on the northeast edge of downtown Tampa. The project is a joint venture between B of A and the Tampa Downtown Housing Authority. Amoroso is working from her home for now while she gets her firm up to speed. A website in her name is forthcoming.
"I will focus on believing I have some marketable power," she said.
