Appointments at the Epicurean Hotel and iQor highlight this week's Tampa Bay business Movers & Shakers

iQor has named Deepak Batheja as its chief digital officer and Group CIO. In his new role, Batheja will lead iQor's digital strategy, technology operations, and data solutions and analytics practice, as well head the company's R&D, innovation and product development for its technology services and solutions. He joins iQor from Interactions. Prior to that, he served as CTO at Sutherland Global Services.

Manufacturing

​Anchor Glass Container Corp., a Tampa manufacturer of premium glass packaging products, announced that Nipesh Shah has been named chief executive officer. Shah will succeed Jim Fredlake, who informed the board of his intention to retire from Anchor Glass. The appointment is effective July 24. Shah will also join the company's board of directors.

Shah came to Anchor Glass from Consolidated Container Company, where he served as senior vice president and general manager for the consumer and industrial group. Previously, Shah held a number of senior positions at Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. from 2004 to 2014. Shah had formerly also held management positions at Honeywell, Avery Dennison and Dover Chemical Corp. He has a master's degree from the University of Akron and a bachelor of engineering degree from Maharashtra Institute of Technology.

Anchor Glass is a manufacturer of premium glass packaging products. Anchor Glass has long-standing relationships with blue chip companies across the beer, liquor, food, beverage, ready-to-drink and consumer end-markets. The company employs approximately 2,000 people and operates six manufacturing facilities located in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Minnesota, New York and Oklahoma, an engineering and spare parts facility in Illinois and a mold manufacturing facility in Ohio.

Law

Walters Levine & Lozano hired S. David Anton as an attorney of counsel for the firm. Anton has over 30 years of experience in the complex fields of marital and family law and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified family law mediator. Walters Levine & Lozano is a full-service law firm with offices throughout Florida.

Tampa-based Garrison, Yount, Forte & Mulcahy, LLC, a civil litigation firm, announced that Laura H. Compton has become a partner of the firm. Compton joined the firm in 2013, and the focus of her practice includes the defense of restaurants and hospitality companies in premises liability, food-borne illness and Dram Shop cases. She has represented businesses and insurers in Florida's state and federal courts in a variety of cases, including automobile and trucking negligence, catastrophic injury, and general liability.

The partners of The Bleakley Bavol Law firm announced the promotion of Grant Kindrick from associate attorney to partner. Upon graduation from George Washington Law School in 2010, Kindrick joined the Tampa firm as an associate attorney. For the past seven years, Kindrick has served nearly all of the litigation teams in the firm. Kindrick has second chaired several jury trials in both federal and state courts; second chaired arbitrations; and handled multiple administrative hearings and motions hearings. Kindrick started his associate path handling primarily the defense of workers compensation claims.

Finance

Weatherford Partners, based in Tampa, announced the hiring of two new members to the company's leadership team, Michael Millett and Michael Ifraimov. Both Millett and Ifraimov will be based in Tampa and serve as vice presidents. Millett will be responsible for supporting overall company operations, due diligence and business development and strategy. He has 10 years of experience in the financial and legal services industries where he oversaw financial regulatory compliance, banking operations, and municipal debt issuance. Ifraimov will lead the firm's portfolio monitoring activities and support the overall transaction process, including deal assessment, due diligence, transaction structuring and negotiations, financial modeling and valuation and deal execution. He has more than 10 years' experience in the private equity and investment banking industries, having made investments in over $3 billion of debt and equity securities across the capital structure.
