Tampa outsourcing firm Sykes Enterprises is closing a call center in Calgary, Alberta, just four years after it bought the Canadian operation.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Sykes cited poor operating results, a deteriorating customer base and loss of key employees in its decision to close the location.

Sykes bought the shares of Kelly, Luttmer & Associates for $3.2 million in March 2005. The KLA site will be shut down on or before June 30, 2010.

Sykes expects to incur costs of $2.1 million to $2.8 million in connection with the closing.
