Recycler partners with local Habitat

East Pasco Habitat For Humanity in Dade City has partnered with GreenFiber, a Charlotte, N.C., manufacturer of natural fiber blow-in insulation, to collect recyclable paper waste from the community.

The GreenFiber bin, which accepts phone books, newspaper, cardboard and other paper goods, is at Habitat's ReStore at 14940 Citrus Country Drive, Suite 420, in the Dade City Business Center.

The paper collecting is a part of GreenFiber's Community Recycling Program. The company takes the recycled paper and turns it into environmentally safe and efficient insulation for homes and commercial buildings. For every ton of paper collected, GreenFiber makes a donation to East Pasco Habitat.

"Habitat is a community-based program. All funds generated by recycling goes into building homes and in turn helps us become a more green Habitat," said Christiana Swanson, East Pasco Habitat's director of operations and recycling coordinator.
