Sugar Mill Diagnostic Imaging, 8303 S Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology.
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists.

Walgreens stores across the county have signed on to help Gifts from Home send treats to troops serving overseas. The items for February: Milky Way Simply Caramel bars and 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp bars.
Each month, Walgreens selects an item and asks customers to buy the item and place it into a collection box. Each store also has a display beside the box, featuring the top 10 requested items the troops ask for. Those items can also be placed into the collection box.
Linda Kidwell, who runs Gifts from Home, will pick up the items and pack them in care packages heading to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Oak Hill Hospital's staff of emergency nurses has achieved 100 percent board certification by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing.
The 22 members include James Aemisegger, Candance Aubertin, Elizabeth Beaulieu, Claire Bell, James Eger, Lindsay Gibson, Larry Jackson, Lisa Kramer, Carolyn Larosa, Kim Loucks, Lisa Mathews, Barbara Meister, Michelle Melichar, Eric Melton, Christina Montgomery, Dee Null, Sherry Pope, Zoriana Rodgers, Sharon Stevens, Tracy Swetokos, Bonnie Thompson and Michael Ward.
According to the Emergency Nurses Association, Oak Hill Hospital's emergency department was the first emergency department in the region to achieve 100 percent board certification. The staff prepared for months to take the exam.

A fundraiser mixer to benefit Partners in Health will be hosted by Brooksville Regional Hospital at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the hospital's courtyard, 17240 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville. The event is being organized by friends and former classmates of Dr. Paul Farmer, who grew up in Hernando County and is a co-founder of Partners in Health.
Tickets are $25 per person, and 100 percent of proceeds will benefit Partners in Health, which provides health services in Haiti. Entertainment will be provided by Rock Steady. There will be a silent auction, and wine and cheese will be served.

R&R Garage Doors, 16050 Aviation Loop Drive, south of Brooksville, will host a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society Gift Room and Relay for Life, as well as the LifeSouth Community Blood Center, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 13.
The event will be hosted by Vicky Foust, owner of R&R Garage Doors, and Victoria Crowe, volunteer coordinator with the cancer society's Hernando Gift Room. Both Foust and Crowe have survived cancer twice.
The Gift Room is in the PineBrook Regional Medical Center building on Cortez Boulevard, west of Brooksville, and provides free wigs, hats, scarves, beanies and kerchiefs for people going through chemotherapy. They also offer free prosthesis and mastectomy bras.
