WESLEY CHAPEL —The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce board of directors has tapped local pastor and former Tampa Tribune executive David West as its executive director.
West replaces Sheri Goldberg, who resigned late last year. He said he is thrilled to take the reins of the chamber.
"I have watched both it, and the Wesley Chapel community at large, develop from obscurity to prominence," he said in a news release. "Wesley Chapel is a fast-growing community with high energy and enthusiasm that is reflected in the composition of the chamber. Many beneficial activities are happening, and I am pleased to be a part of them."
West has worked previously as editor for the East Pasco Business Focus, executive director of Keep Pasco Beautiful, community relations manager for the Tribune, business assistance specialist for the Pasco County Health Department and as minister for the Church of Christ, first in Trilby and now in Dade City. He also serves on the boards of the Dade City, Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills chambers of commerce, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations, including heavy involvement with the Rotary Club of Dade City.
West and his wife, Vickie, have three children and four grandchildren.
