Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Annual Community Awards. Nominees do not have to be chamber members. Awards will be announced at the annual banquet from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16 at Bentley Commons at Zephyrhills, 38130 Pretty Pond Road, Zephyrhills.
Categories include: Citizen of the Year; Business of the Year; Leadership in Government Affairs; Volunteer of the Year; Community Involvement (group); Leadership in Youth Involvement; and the Alice Hall Community Service Award (lifetime contribution to the community).

Dr. James V. Stelnicki, a New Port Richey podiatrist and past president and member of the executive board of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, was recently elected as the newest member of Barry University's Board of Trustees.
Stelnicki received a doctorate of podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed residency training at the Cleveland Foot Clinic and Pinellas General Hospital. He is board certified in podiatric surgery and primary podiatric care by the American Podiatric Medical Specialties Board.
Stelnicki is a Florida State Boxing Commissioner presently serving as the vice chairman, has been a member of the state board of Florida Medical Examiners and the Department of Professional Regulation, and has been closely involved with Barry University for more than 20 years.

The Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce and Tiffanie Kellog of the Referral Institute have teamed up to provide a new weekly networking event, Power Networking, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Pagelli's Italiano restaurant in the Shops of Wiregrass, 2001 Piazza Ave., Wesley Chapel.
The mixer is an opportunity for local business professionals to come together, learn about each other's businesses, and begin relationships with the goal of receiving more referrals. During Power Networking, Kellog will lead participants through various exercises, the goal being to help grow their business through word of mouth.

The West Pasco Chamber Ambassadors will host the eighth annual Catch the Buzz Spelling Bee at 5 p.m. Thursday at Spartan Manor, 6121 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey.
Local businesses and organizations (in teams of four) will compete for the title of Spelling Bee Champs. Teams are encouraged to decorate their tables or wear costumes. Proceeds from this adult-only fundraiser, will benefit educational charities and the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce.
