Apparently, long service in the military makes you an expert on kooky fun-houses. The company behind childrens' restaurant chain Chuck E. Cheese picked retired four-star Gen. Tommy Franks to help them expand their brand.

Franks was elected to the company's board of directors on March 26, CEC Entertainment said Monday. Franks, 62, served in the military for more than forty years before retiring in 2003, and now lives in Oklahoma.

Franks has a private consulting firm, Franks & Associates, LLC. He serves on the board of directors of Bank of America and the National Park Foundation, and formerly served on the board of OSI Restaurant Partners. As commander of the U.S. central command, he led American campaigns in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Franks In a prepared statement released after his election to the board, Franks said, "There is something special about the sights and sounds of kids and parents enjoying themselves. That's what we experience each time we visit Chuck E. Cheese's, the favored entertainment destination of our grandkids."
