Bob Wilson Dodge of Tampa, along with its Chrysler Jeep affiliate, has filed for bankruptcy protection while the company reorganizes.

The third-generation car dealership on Florida Avenue has been slammed by slower sales and higher overhead. Bankruptcy court documents reflect assets and liabilities of up to $50-million and more than 200 creditors.

The dealership closed its sales floor on Monday, but said it expected to reopen within a week. Its service and parts departments have remained open during the legal proceedings.

Lousy dealership. Actually had a sales manager yell at me once for wanting to look at another dealership. This place needs new management and consultative selling techniques.

Uncompetitive products and lousy customer service. Chrysler is relic; headed to the history books. The govm't should have allowed them to fold back in the 1980s
