Flush with $105-million from a recent bond issue, the Seminole Tribe of Florida is pondering where to build new hotels to support its expanded gambling operations. Tampa's Seminole Hard Rock Casino could get from 500 to 1,000 additional rooms, Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen said during a visit to Tampa on Thursday. The current 250-room hotel is routinely packed with VIPs on freebies and guests paying daily rates in mid $200s. But Tampa is competing against other properties, including the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, where the tribe has proposed a 1,500-room convention/meeting hotel as part of a big mixed-used development. The tribe should decide in three or four months, Allen said. New games of blackjack and baccarat are slated to debut in mid June at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood. The games should make it to Tampa in the fourth quarter of this year, Allen said.
