Learn marketing strategies for tough economy

"Effective Marketing in Tight Times," a workshop that targets business people, religious organizations, clubs and nonprofit organizations, is planned for 10 a.m. Jan. 13 at the Sunshine Center, 330 Fifth St. N. Topics include the difference between advertising and marketing, networking for fun and profit, getting the bang for your buck, and keeping customers and members. The cost is $30. Recycling program will help charity

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay has formed partnerships with national and local recycling companies to raise money. This unique program will generate revenue for the Ronald McDonald House and help companies protect the environment.

The new program recycles loose Styrofoam with Blue Earth Solutions and is soliciting the public's help in getting the word out.

Recycling programs that support the Ronald McDonald House of Tampa Bay include paper, plastic, glass, aluminum cans, cardboard, on-site secure shredding, off-site secure shredding, Styrofoam, computers and monitors, batteries, light bulbs, ballasts, cell phones, ink jet and laser toners.
