Summer is winding down, and so are gas prices. Florida pump prices averaged $2.76 per gallon Monday, down five cents over the week. That's just ahead of Tampa Bay's $2.72 per gallon average, which was also down five cents since last week according to AAA, The Auto Club Group.

"Prices declined last week after crude inventories grew and gasoline supplies remained stable, despite strong demand," said Mark Jenkins, AAA spokesperson, in a release. "Although demand was higher than the week before, it remains below most of July."

While gas prices are expected to continue to decline, AAA said, Labor Day weekend could cause a short-term spike in prices. Nationally, gas was $2.84 per gallon Monday.
