'57 Pontiac Chieftain

In 1957, at age 19, I had a job as a Linotype operator at a newspaper in Exeter, N.H. Earning a good salary for my age and the time, I bought this new 1957 Pontiac Chieftain for $3,600. It was white with gray side strips and a gray roof. The photo was taken in 1957 in Haverhill, Mass., where I lived at the time. Standing by the car is my mother, who passed away three years ago, two months short of her 90th birthday.
