Marion H. Crane's first car: 1948 Plymouth convertible

'48 Plymouth convertible

My first car was a 1948 Plymouth convertible with a white top, a red beauty. I had just returned from "Girls State," a program for incoming high school seniors to learn about the Vermont state government, when this beautiful car, driven by the dealership owner, arrived in our driveway. My dad was proud to give me this car as mine and my brother's (John Heins of Largo). High school was 7 miles away, and even though we rode with our milk truck to the creamery in the morning, one of our parents had to get us in the afternoon. I still drive to my little place on the lake in Vermont, but I now drive a sedan with a sunroof.
