’38 Buick Special
After returning to civilian life after serving in the Navy, I did two things: purchased this 1937-38 Buick, and met my wife. We are still going after 64 years. The Buick, which we called the Black Beauty, had two spare tires, which we used on occasions. We had parking and tail lights chromed. It had a bench front seat which kept us close. We serviced it ourselves, but when our first daughter arrived, the Buick gave way to a 1949 Ford Sport Coupe.
