While stationed at MacDill Field in 1947, I met a beautiful young woman. Just before our marriage in 1948, I purchased this car from her father for $ 100. He had owned it since 1942, and it still had only 37,000 miles on it and had never been driven at speeds above 40 mph. My wife and I drove it on our honeymoon to Daytona Beach. Shortly thereafter, we were transferred to Topeka, Kan., and drove it all the way at no more than 40 miles an hour, as my father-in-law convinced me not to exceed that speed. (We had to replace the generator three times on the trip.) Although we sold this car in 1949 and bought a new Nash, I still have the young lady. My wife and I both fondly remember this car.
