My First Car: '63 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 Convertible, Jerry Scott, 71, Pinellas Park

'63 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 Convertible

My parents and I together — each of us paid half — bought my new 1963 Olds Cutlass F-85 Convertible, black with black interior and white top, on July 3, 1963, in my home town of Knoxville, Tenn. The total price was $3,120. I have the canceled check we wrote for the car. The car was a college graduation present to me. My wife (of 47 years now) and I drove the car to New Orleans on our honeymoon in January 1965. We continue to enjoy the car and drive it several times a week. Our car will turn 50 on July 3, 2013, and we have loved owning and driving it for its entire life.
