My First Car: Sam Marranca, 62, Hamilton, Ontario, and St. Pete Beach, '66 Chevy Biscayne

I'm a snowbird from Hamilton, Ontario, and we winter in St. Pete Beach. My first car was this 1966 Chevy Biscayne. I bought it off my aunt for $200 in 1973 to go to and from my first (and only) job at the local steel mill. It had a 283 V-8 with two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission and standard steering and brakes. This seemed strange to me because my aunt only had one leg and you'd think she would order power steering and brakes. She was a tough old bird. When I first drove the car it was a little sluggish, but as soon as I installed a new set of Turbofire spark plugs, it got a bit of a jump to it. I owned it for two years and it is still my favorite.
