Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink has charged Boca Raton-based People's Trust Homeowners Insurance with using unlicensed agents, threatening to pull the company's license. Sink's office also said an investigation yielded evidence that unlicensed agents sold policies, and it should prompt Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty to investigate the company's other insurance business practices. The company can appeal Sink's action. People's Trust launched in spring 2008 among startup insurers in Florida's market.
