Gov. Rick Scott has appointed St. Petersburg lawyer and investor James Holton to fill a vacant seat on the Citizens Property Insurance Corp. board of governors.
Holton, 59, is president of the real estate development and investment firm Holton Cos. Among other roles, he has been chairman of the Florida Transportation Commission and a member of the Enterprise Florida board of directors. His term on Citizens' board runs from Jan. 17 to July 31, after which he could be reappointed for a full term.
Separately, Scott reappointed insurance consultant John Wortman to the Citizens board for a new term ending July 31, 2016.
