Another round of Washington Mutual job cuts is afoot, this one focusing on the loan business. The country's largest savings and loan is closing 17 Florida offices, including one in Tampa, as part of a plan to close all free-standing loan offices around the country and exit the wholesale lending business. The company announced this week that it is receiving $7-billion in new capital from a private investment group and eliminating 3,000 jobs.
