Blake Shelton and Hunter Hayes helped the Florida Strawberry Festival beat last year's attendance level.
The back-to-back Hayes and Shelton concerts both sold out, helping push overall attendance at the 11-day event to 526,100 patrons. That's slightly better than last year's 525,300 — a 0.15 percent increase.
"I don't know the specific numbers, but I think that definitely gave us a boost," festival spokeswoman KeeLee Tomlinson said.
Attendance has edged up each of the past four years, she said. Cool temperatures likely caused some folks to stay home, but at least there were no rain-outs. The double sellout of Shelton and Hayes was a first for the festival.
"It was nice to go out with a bang," Tomlinson said.
