Bright House Networks plans to add a new customer support center to its East Manatee facility and hire 155 new employees to handle a growing customer base in Manatee County. County commissioners approved Bright House for $155,000 in performance-based incentives based on adding 155 jobs over the next three years. The jobs must pay at least $41,164 a year, or 15 percent more than the average annual wage in Manatee County. Bright House is the second-largest operator of cable systems in Florida, and the sixth-largest cable provider nationwide. The company says it serves about 2.5 million customers who subscribe to one or more of its services: video, high-speed data, home security and automation, or voice.
