The Bubba the Love Sponge Show was off the air again Tuesday after accusations that the local radio personality tampered with radio ratings data for the Tampa Bay market.
Radio host Bubba the Love Sponge Clem was absent from the airwaves on Monday and Tuesday. "Best of Bubba" recordings aired instead. He told WTVT-TV on Friday that he was unaware of the allegations and was off the air that day because he hurt himself in a fall.
Requests for comment from members of the Bubba the Love Sponge Show were not returned Tuesday.
Media ratings company Nielsen delayed the release of ratings data for the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater market Monday for "quality assurance steps." Nielsen and Beasley Media said last week that they are investigating Clem.
It is unclear when Clem will return to the show.
