The Florida Department of Financial Services says it will save $5-million over the next five years by consolidating consumer call center operations in Largo and Tallahassee. The move affects workers in 44.5 full-time positions scattered across the state, including 10 workers at three offices in Tampa. Workers who transfer will get up to $2,000 to help with moving costs. Twelve people currently work at the Largo center. Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink said the move will allow better training to improve customer service.
