Brandon Regional Hospital names new CEO

Bland Eng has been appointed chief executive officer of Brandon Regional Hospital. He replaces Mike Fencel, 52, who started a new position Jan. 9 as CEO of the North Florida division of Health Management Associates. Eng, 41, has worked for HCA for 17 years, most recently for five years as CEO of Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee. Previous positions include CEO of Lake City Medical Center and chief operating officer of Central Florida Regional Hospital and Putnam Community Hospital. Eng holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and English from the University of Miami. He earned a master's of business administration and master's of health care sciences from the University of Florida. Married with two children, Eng plans to relocate to Brandon at the end of the school year.
