PODS Enterprises buys its largest franchisee

PODS Enterprises, the moving and storage company based in Clearwater, has bought all the assets of its largest franchisee.

The purchase of Storage Mobility LLC strengthens PODS' presence in the Northeast, allows it to build a significant cluster on the West Coast, and increases its footprint in the Mountain time zone, PODS CEO John B. Koch said Thursday.

Storage Mobility, a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based investment firm Andell Inc., is in 21 markets, with its heaviest concentration of offices in California, New York and Pennsylvania.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal will add about 100 employees to PODS' workforce of 900 associates.
