TAMPA — Syniverse Holdings Inc., a Tampa company that provides wireless voice and data service for telecommunications companies, said Wednesday that its stockholders have approved the Carlyle Group's plan to buy the company, taking it private. The purchase is expected to close this week.
Under the agreement, Carlyle will buy all outstanding shares of Syniverse for $31 apiece in cash.
Syniverse said voting stockholders voted 99.9 percent of their shares in favor of the deal. The voting shareholders represented 70.4 percent of the company's outstanding stock.
