Dozens in Florida arrested in insurance fraud investigation

Florida's Department of Financial Services is targeting 100 people from Pensacola to Miami in a weeklong probe into insurance fraud in which it estimates at least $3.5 million in insurance premiums were stolen or planned to be stolen. As of Thursday, 69 people had been arrested. The latest, the owner of Little Explorers Daycare in Plant City, was accused of forging insurance documents in order to collect more than $38,000 in school-readiness state funding. Robbin Broadnax can get 30 years in prison if convicted on various forgery and grand theft charges.
