Business recruitment agency names Norden new boss

The Committee of One Hundred, a Tampa area business recruitment agency, has filled its executive managing director position after a 10-month vacancy. Keith A. Norden, senior vice president of the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance in Norfolk, Va., was chosen from more than 120 applicants. Norden's agency helped recruit 70 new companies that generated more than 14,000 jobs in southeast Virginia. Though the Committee of One Hundred is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Norden will have greater autonomy than his predecessor on the job, Myron Hughes, who resigned in February. After a reorganization this year, the Committee of One Hundred was placed under control of a cabinet of senior executives from the private and public sectors. The cabinet, chaired by TECO Energy president John Ramil, wanted to improve the chamber's business recruitment. Norden starts Jan. 5.
