Construction will begin this summer on a 15 kilowatt solar array that will power Lowry Park Zoo's Treetop Skyfari ride, Tampa Electric said Monday. The $577,000 project, first announced last summer, is slated to be complete by August, said Tampa Electric spokesman Rick Morera. Tampa Electric will pay for $427,000 of the project, with the remainder paid for through a grant from the Florida High Tech Corridor, an effort to attract and retain technology business in the state.
